It’s Your Turn

I’ve been doing this blog thing for a while now and I’ve had this incredible freedom to basically do whatever I want.  I make the recipes I want and post them when I feel like it.  It’s been really nice.  But now I need to hear from you.

When my friend asked me for some rhubarb recipes, it gave me a renewed sense of purpose.  I got to use seasonal ingredients and made recipes that other people actually wanted to use.  I kind of liked it.

So before I do another post about a recipe that isn’t what you care about, how about commenting and letting me know what you actually want to read about.  Maybe you just really crave new Jell-O recipes.  I’ve got a million of them.  Maybe you still haven’t found the perfect cake.  I may already have it in my archives.  I still need to make that nut cake roll thing my other friend asked for, but it would be sad for me to make it and not be able to share it with her.

And just because I can, here are a bunch of pictures I took of my garden last month.  The cherry blossoms are turning into cherries, the daffodils are all gone, the celosia is bigger.

  1. Hope I don’t say anything untoward here but I lost you when you stopped your place on Facebook and wanted me to go someplace else to read your wonderful writing and recipes and imbibe your photography. Not only do I enjoy it but it is growing and burgeoning into a sophisticated blog. Hugs,

    1. Aw, Georgia, I’m sorry I’ve made it harder for you to see the blog. I thought by creating its own Facebook page, it might make it easier for my FB friends that don’t care to read my writing to get it in another way. I need to get better about sharing it again.

I am happy that you enjoy reading my writing, though. It’s been such fun for me to do this. There has been a part of me that has always wanted to write, I just hadn’t found my place to do it before.

  2. I am a sucker for Jello recipes. I can’t get enough of ’em.

I’ve been enjoying the rhubarb recipes, too. Very timely, given rhubarb seems to be overtaking everyone I know. I like that you’re posting these recipes during Rhubarb Season.

Request: Pumpkin recipes in the fall.

    1. I have Jello recipes like you wouldn’t believe. I have a fluffy orange salad that almost came out to play. I also have a lot of “savory” Jello recipes.

I don’t have quite as many pumpkin recipes as I have apple and cranberry recipes, but I’ll see what I can do.

  3. Well how do you feel about diabetic recipes that actually taste good? I do sort of OK making pies with sugar-free pudding and cream cheese, but getting bored. Sugar-free cookies?

    1. I don’t know if I have any of those. I should experiment. I made gluten-free madelines not too long ago, I should experiment with other options. Do you have a preferred sugar substitute that you use? I just planted a stevia in my garden.

  4. Berries will be in full bloom there soon! How about strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry recipes? Cherries for July?

    1. My bing cherries are already ripening a little bit. So that might happen sooner than you think!
